JOAN MARTIN - DIRECTOR
Joan
Martin, Director of the dance arts center of McKinney and
Lewisville has developed them into one of the finest dance
programs in the area.
Joan danced professionally with her cousin, Bill Miller, on television and in numerous shows throughout the southwest. Bill choreographed routines for the famous Kilgore Rangerettes and danced in the Dallas summer Musicals.
Joan also taught dance for "Music LTD" in Richardson for four years, and during this period she was featured in Time magazine. She studied at SMU in Dallas and has always enjoyed attending dance conventions throughout the United States.
Joan, Louann and Perry have enjoyed teaching Country and Western classes since the 1980's. Not only have they held classes at the Community Center, but also at the West End in Dallas (with a live band), a country club in McKinney, a Dude Ranch and numerous other events.
LOUANN MARTIN VANCE - DIRECTOR
LouAnn
is a talented dance instructor who loves working with children
as well as adults.
LouAnn
studied dance at the university of North Texas and the SMU Dance
Department. She has taken Master Dance classes taught by Buster
Cooper and has studied ballet under Jacqueline Forscher at the
Etgen-Atkinson School of Ballet.
LouAnn
believes that children are our most important assets. Parents
should expose them early to the arts and we at the DANCE ARTS
CENTER believe that each student should receive the best
training available at an affordable price.
DEBBE HARTWELL
Debbe
started her dance and baton training at an early age with Joan
and LouAnn and has grown into a very popular instructor. She
was captain of the Anna High School Drill team and is currently
self employed as a hairstylist in Allen. She loves working with
children of all ages.
KRIS ROSE
Kris
started her dance training with Joan at the age of 3 and started
her student assistant teaching at twelve with LouAnn. She has
grown into a highly qualified teacher and has a true love for
children. She received her degree from the University of
North Texas
in child development. She was also a member of the McKinney Marquettes, serving as captain her senior year.
SHANNON BOYETTE
Shannon
started her dance training with Joan at the age of 3 and has
been with the school every since. She received her degree in
education from Texas Woman’s’ University and is currently
teaching first grade in Anna Texas. She is a very popular
instructor with the kids at Dance Arts Center.
WENDY COMMONS
Wendy
started her dance training at the age of 2 and has loved taking
classes all her life. She excels in tap, ballet & Hip Hop. She
has progressed into a fine dance instructor. She received her
Masters Degree from Texas Woman’s University and is currently on
the faculty at Quad C. We are proud to have her.






Nicole
started her dance training at the age of 3 with us and we are
pleased to have her on our staff. She is excellent with
children and incorporates kindness and patience into her
teaching skills. She always has a smile on her face.
